Sunshine
Although we were rained on several times, the sun did shine on us for a fair amount of our time at Dollywood today.

The Appalachian Trail intersects the Clingman's Dome trail so we walked it for a bit.

Clingman's Dome
We enjoyed a moderately strenuous walk up to Clingman's Dome, the highest point east of the Mississippi. The panaromic views were excellent today.

The weather and traffic were both great today, which made our drive on the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway all the more enjoyable.

Antler Hill Train Display
Our last stop before we leave Biltmore, we are enjoying this wonderful train display. Covering three levels and running five trains, the actual display was made of all natural materials.

Fireflies
Not the best camera work here because the flash and exposure give the impression that there was still daylight at the time, but if you look closely you can see fireflies, which were all around us.

We closed the Lounge at dinner with a lovely sunset, and the food was pretty good, too.

Biltmore House, part deux
This was a nice surprise - a lego replica of the Biltmore House was in the winery store. I don't know if the details show well in the picture, but it is very impressive in person.

Here we are in front of the country's largest house. We had a grand time walking the garden paths, enjoying the pleasant scenary and fresh air.

We started today with a visit to the grist mill before we left Stone Mountain Park. We drove through South Carolina (pictured) and into North Carolina (no visitor center at our point of entry) to the Biltmore.

We found the waterfall!
We still haven't seen another trail marker, but we eventually founs the waterfall and it was well worth the experience.

Beautiful weather here in the evergreen forest of Stone Mountain Park. After going a while without seeing a trail marker, my expedition party was happy to fimd this tree.

Great way to end the night
Stone Mountain's Laser Light & Fireworks show was 40 minutes strong with a great patriotic ending.

We conquered Stone Mountain!
At least on the way up. This was a picture at the top. Then, on the way down, the Rock knocked our son on his tush and bloodied wifey's leg. Ah, memories

We missed the end of the season by 15 minutes last year...
...so we've returned to Lane Southem Orchards to see the packing process. Looking forward to some sweet Georga peaches shortly!

We had a great visit to the Stephen Foster Folk Park
We hadn't heard of him, but learned interesting facts about him at the site. He was one of the earliest professional America songwriters. Some of his ballards are well known, timeless favorites. Look them up and sing along!
